My scholarship has traveled through several phases. I started off, in graduate school, studying homelessness. From there I transitioned to crime (actually, the study of crime) which saw me through a two-year post-doc and being an assistant professor. Now I study religion, focusing on American Christianity. Methodologically, I analyze quantitative survey data and, increasingly so, field experiments. I take a social-psychological perspective in most of my work.
